How to make grilled fillet in red wine sauce

Recipe Difficulty Level: easy Servings: 4

Ingredients for “grilled fillet in red wine sauce”:

  • 4 slices ( about 5 cm (1.9 Inches) high) of beef fillet (about 200 g (7 oz) each)
  • 4 shallots
  • 3 or 4 bay leaves
  • 4 cloves
  • 400 ml (1⅔ cups plus 1 tbsp) of red wine
  • 1 tablespoon of sugar
  • 25 g (¼ stick) of butter
  • Extra virgin olive oil
  • Salt
  • Black Pepper

Method:

In a pot, melt the butter and add chopped shallots, salt, wine, bay leaves, cloves, and sugar. Cook it until the liquid becomes syrupy.

With  a twine, tie the pieces of fillet.

Then add black pepper and cook them on a grill (1 minute for each side)

Put the fillet in the pot with the shallots and cook it together for 1 minute for each side.

Serve them with Baked potatoes or Sandy Potatoes!
