Very easy and fast for an excellent result just follow a few simple steps: prepare the sauce in advance, and cook the pasta al dente slightly hard.

Finally, the trick to making it tasty and not sticking is to immediately mix the pasta with a mix of oil and aromatic herbs!

Once you have made the base of your Italian Pasta Salad, you can season it of your choice! In this case, I propose the most traditional Italian recipe.

  • 400 g (14 oz) of short pasta (penne, maccheroni etc.)
  • 300 g (1¾ cups plus 1 tbsp) of cherry tomatoes
  • 300 g (10.5 oz) of mozzarella
  • 50 g (⅓ cup plus 1 tbsp) olives
  • 250 g (8.8 oz) of canned tuna
  • 1 clove of garlic
  • Some basil
  • 3 tablespoons of extra virgin olive oil
  • Salt
  • 3 sun-dried tomatoes (optional)


Cut the cherry tomatoes and put them in a bowl with 3 tablespoons of extra virgin olive oil and the chopped basil.

After that put it in the fridge for at least 30 minutes.

Cut the olives and the mozzarella into small cubes. 

Cook the pasta “al dente” in boiling and salty water. Once ready, drain the pasta and rinse under cold water until the pasta cools down.

Put the pasta in a large bowl and mix it with the tomatoes, basil, olives, tuna, 3 sun-dried tomatoes cut into small strips (optional), and mozzarella. If necessary, add some salt and more extra virgin olive oil if needed.
